Diversity in clinical trials is important to me because we all are different and our treatment should reflect that. We are often placed under the umbrella of gender, but there are so many other factors to consider. The treatment that works for a Hispanic woman may not work for a Black woman or a White woman simply based on ancestral differences, age or lifestyle. In order for real change to be made, we need volunteers. As people are changing, science is changing too. As things are updating for the better we need a good representation of all walks of life to create successful cures. The objective is to heal everyone and a diverse study will do just that.
